Easter fun: Men and boys take great delight in pouring buckets of water over the women of the village of Malé Trakany in Slovakia, as part of the traditional Easter celebration to help them become more beautiful and healthy. These photos were taken today, Monday the 6th of April 2015, describing the way Hungarian people celebrate Easter Monday. In some areas of the country boys and girls wear traditional costumes. The boys usually gather in groups and visit the girls in the village to water them. Western people find this quite strange, however, this kind of celebration is very common in Central and Eastern Europe. Having said that, the tradition is at the brink of extinction, and only a very few people carry on this beautiful yet strange way of Easter celebration. The group of young men on the photos are from the village of Čičarovce, who were watering the girls in the village of Malé Trakany.
Pictured: Another girl, another watering. The boys's facial expression is priceless, and so it the girl's.
